Toronto waterfront condominiums have a great view, but many city dwellers are tired of living in a box at a distance from beautiful natural wonders. Destination weddings and outdoor weddings are becoming increasingly popular as people try to reconnect with nature. Beach weddings are especially popular, as beaches are exotic and usually hovering just out of reach for city dwellers. Beach ceremonies can be gorgeous, but they're also more trouble to plan. Here are some things you'll need to take into consideration.
Weather
All outdoor weddings are tempting fate at least a little, because weddings need to be planned months in advance but weather can rarely be predicted with any accuracy more than a week or so in advance. Therefore be sure to have a rain plan, such as tents or an alternate date a day or so after so that your relatives who live in Arlington, TX real estate can still make the ceremony. Keep in mind also that beaches are usually quite windy, which can play havoc with hair and decorations that aren't firmly secured.
Tides
If you're planning your wedding at the beach in front of your Haliburton cottages you don't need to worry, as lakes aren't generally affected by the tides. If you're wedding will be on an ocean beach, however, take care to know where the tide will be at the time. Tides conform to strict schedules and tables, so you should be able to plan the required months ahead. Visit your location to see where the tide lines are, and never set anything up below the high tide line, even temporarily.
Surface
If you're going to be asking Muskoka catering to set up a buffet table on the beach, or having your wedding dance or ceremony on the beach, you need a stable platform from which to operate. Sand may look romantic, but it's also tough to walk on and hard to balance chairs and tables in. Use plywood sheets to stabilize portions of the sand for your guests and staff. You can always cover them up with a thin layer of sand. Make sure you keep covers on the food as well, or it may get gritty from blowing sand.
Temperature
Beach weddings conjure up images of skimpy, flowing dresses and open toed sandals. This is all well and good if you're having your wedding at a Puerto Vallarta Villa in the summertime, but most normal beaches are significantly cooler than inland areas because of the sea breeze. You'll need to anticipate this and provide your guests (and yourself!) with a way to warm up, whether it's reminding them to bring a shawl or setting up a tent to act as a wind break.
