Rehearsal Dinner

The wedding rehearsal dinner is a time to gather with your family, wedding party, and close friends and relax before the big day. And, obviously as the name states, it's when you rehearse for the ceremony and make the final preparations for the day. It's a time to extend a thank you to those who have helped you prepare for the ceremony and have been there throughout your relationship. Your rehearsal dinner can take place in a restaurant, a catering hall or even at your Clarkson Real Estate. It can be a large formal affair or a small intimate gathering. There is no right or wrong way to throw a rehearsal dinner, and there are many options that can be considered.

Traditionally, rehearsal dinners take place right after the rehearsal for the ceremony. It is usually organized by the groom and is paid for by the groom's parents. Normally, you include both the bride and groom's parents, siblings, the officiator, and the immediate wedding party (maid of honour, best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, and anyone who is reading or taking part in the wedding). Obviously, you can invite whomever you please, but traditionally the rehearsal dinner is a small, private affair. It's also good to consider inviting the out-of-town guests to the rehearsal dinner, since they may have traveled a long distance to celebrate your day and it's a good idea to show how much you appreciate the effort. You could avoid the traditional rehearsal dinner altogether and have a rehearsal brunch the day before the wedding, or have a nice wine and cheese service in the evening.

Many couples incorporate some kind of fun theme into the rehearsal dinner. If you are fortunate enough to have access to Oakville homes or somewhere with a big backyard, why not have a country-style barbeque? Or you could have a luau on the beach and give your guests a chance to relax with their feet in the sand. It's a good idea to use your global internet access and search the web for lots of cool ways to throw a rehearsal dinner. The list is endless, so take advantage of it!

But, above all, the dinner should be a nice, relaxing evening the night before your ceremony. It's a chance to wind down and spend time with those who have been putting in countless hours helping you get ready for the big day. Although many people like to do it at a fancy restaurant and make it a formal affair, it's good to consider something a little lower key, possibly in one of the attendee's Toronto beach homes. Making the rehearsal more informal allows you to personally thank and toast your guests in a carefree environment. Sure, having your dinner at a five star restaurant or on a yacht while you do some Georgian Bay sailing can be lovely, but it can also add stress when it comes to the preparation. Just always remember that the rehearsal dinner should be a carefree event that won't have you stressing out before the big day.
